Overall it seems pretty decent, but it has a few design issues as mentioned by other reviewers here. I just got this computer a few days ago, so I can't speak to it's durability. Best laptop for seven hundred and fifty dollars on sale!īattlefield Bad Company 2, medium/1366x768, 30-55fps I have been using the laptop for about a week now and really like it overall. I guess my only complaint would be the lack of USB 3.0, eSATA, wireless card only does 150Mbits connect rate (atheros ar9002wb-1ng, ten feet from three transceiver WAP), 5400rpm hard drive, and the placement of the power cord.
The NVIDIA 540m isn't in use till you play a game like a first person shooter or a game like WoW, there are profiles that can be set for each program in the NVIDIA Control Panel, one can also right click on the application to select which GPU to use.
ASUS N53SV STICKER SOFTWARE
The multi-touch mouse pad is very sensitive, much better once that's changed (lowered) in the Synaptics control software (updated too).
The quad core i7 is about 3-4 times faster, video card is about the same, overall system temperature is way less, battery life is about 4-5 hours light to moderate use. I used a ASUS G50VT before buying this K53SV-B1, it was great but getting dated, was looking forward to a faster CPU, more ram, and longer battery life.
